Cookie Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device to remember information between pages and visits. This policy explains which cookies Archival AI (https://archivalai.org) uses and why.

2. Our approach

We use only strictly necessary cookies — the minimum needed for the platform to function securely. We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking.

3. Cookies we use

Session cookie (NextAuth): keeps you signed in after you log in. Deleted or expired when the session ends.

Security cookies (NextAuth CSRF and callback): protect the sign-in process against cross-site request forgery. Strictly necessary for authentication.

Language preference (NEXT_LOCALE): remembers which of the platform's languages (English, Chinese, Malay, Tamil) you have chosen.

4. No advertising cookies

The platform contains no advertising and sets no advertising or marketing cookies of any kind.

5. No third-party analytics cookies

We do not set third-party analytics cookies and do not share cookie data with analytics companies. Any usage measurement we perform relies on our own server logs, not tracking cookies.

6. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Because all of our cookies are strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent parts of the platform — in particular signing in — from working.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the cookies used by the platform change. The revised policy will be posted here with a new “last updated” date.

8. Contact

Questions about this policy or our use of cookies can be sent to contact@archivalai.org.
